Watch What You See

Watch what you see because that can mean very much to your life.

God Almighty called on Abram one day and told him something like this: Look up north and look down south. Look to the west and to the east.

As far as you can see, I will give unto you for a possession.
Genesis 13:14-15

Often God gives you as far as you can see. And if you are seeing a land flowing with milk and honey that is what God will grant you.

Above all, remember that if you take your eyes off your goal, you would see nothing but obstacles. What you see in your neighbor may also be a reflection of your heart.

Here is a story of how not to look or what you should not see in people:

There was a little seed sown. It soon began to germinate. The lonely seed began to look around. All it could see were obstacles.

As it looked it saw the Rose, the Lilly, and the Violet.

It began to think…

Which of these flowers around shall I come out as? It thought; “I don’t want to be a Rose, it has thorns. I don’t desire to be a Lily, it’s too colorless. I certainly don’t desire to be violet, it’s too small.”

And so it criticized each flower. Until that arrogant seed woke up one summer hour and found itself fully grown.....as a weed!

What a failure?

Take a cue from that seed. What do you see in others? If you see only faults, then you have put a barrier between you and your own perfection.

Be sure of this. Destructive criticism is deadly. Correction is life. Criticism is pointing out your flaws, correction is pointing out your potentials.

What can you see in others? Yes, watch out. For you may become just what you see in people.

"And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever." Genesis 13:14-15
