Lessons from River Eden?

River at Eden Garden - EDEN GARDEN BIBLE STUDY TOPICS

"Are there Life Saving Lessons from River Eden?"

Are you asking if there are essential lessons from Eden River to better your life? Do you want to ride your life to success rather than allow life to ride on you?

Yes, the River in Eden have many life saving Lessons. This River is at the center of Eden. It gives life and power to everything in the Garden.

I invite you to take your notebook and pen and study until you understand these important lessons. When you master these lessons, you are certain to find answers to most of your life’s important questions.

The great River Eden is like the Great River of Life. It main duty is to give life to everything in the Garden. It is the Only SOURCE of God's power.

This River in its continuous flow parted into four heads.

“And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads…”
~ Genesis 2:10-14 - KJV)

So one head gives life and power to:

  1. The Mineral Kingdom

  2. The Vegetable Kingdom

  3. The Animal Kingdom

  4. The Human Kingdom

It is this last branch that gives power to human beings. It also supplies everyone with the power of thought. Human Brain receives this thought power which could then be used to achieve whatever goal the individual desires.

It is the branch that's your source of Eden River

both power and goodness.

This River Eden is the Infinite Power of God. It flows continuously and automatically and gives life tothe mineral, the vegetation and all living things.

This River in a way is before all things, and in it all things consist.
~Colossians 1:17

Everything in Eden move and live and have their being because of this River. ~ Acts 17:28

This River is the River of Life. It is the POWER of the ALmighty God.

You may also see the great river as a figure of God's Infinite Love. God’s Love is made available throughout the universe to supply energy to all kingdoms in God’s creation.

God loves the world so He made provision for its needs through this River.

The river became four heads which means God's love is available to animate and fuell the four kingdoms in Nature: Human, Animal, Plant and Mineral.

The power, which flows continuously and authomatically in Eden River, is available to you. You receive thought power in your brain. Your brain is not a generator but only a receiver.

Your brain's work is to:

  • Direct

  • Associate and
  • Control your Thought power through self discipline
It is this power that you need to use if you want to change your life or situations. This is possible as you discipline your mind to do its job correctly.

You need a well-defined goal. Without it you would be nothing better than an electric power plant without a conductor.

This is one of the greatest lessons of life. Without a vision, goal or purpose in life, you will fritter away in aimless pursuits.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." ~ Proverbs 29:18

Without a vision you would not restrain your self. It takes self discipline to make any vision a reality.

Find below few of the many lessons to learn from Eden River. When you use them in your personal life and situations, you are sure to get solution to all your troubles. The application of your lessons will lead you surely to improved relationship, prosperity, success, health and wealth.

Lessons from The Great River at Eden Garden:

Eden River shows you among other things that your power needs:

  1. Direction
  2. Association
  3. Control
  4. Self Discipline
  5. Two Sides of the River

Lesson 1: Direction

Power must be directed. It needs to be guided to a good purpose. A well-defined goal or a single purpose is the only way of directing this great power.

"The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be SINGLE, thy whole body shall be full of light." ~ Matthew 6:22

Your goal is what gives direction to your in life. A mighty river easily loses its power when directed to many small tributaries. This is also true of the power of God in you. You would lose a great deal of your power to reach your goals if you were to lose focus and spread your self too thin.

By trying to pursue too many things at the same time, you would lower your chance of success. Success comes easily if you direct your attention and effort to one thing at a time.

Lesson 2: Association

This Great River of Life also represents God's unquenchable Love for His creation. Love is the cause of God's action; without it, the world could not exist!

It takes two to express love; therefore love requires the association of two people. The power of love can only be demonstrated through association.

In fellowship, friendship and marriage you gain and grow as you share with one another. You find support as you strive to attain your goals. With a well-defined single purpose, you need to make friends with your like-minded companions in order to increase your chances of reaching your predetermined goals.

You must associate with others in order to succeed. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, "two are better than one". The Bible also encourages you to make friends only with good people and to avoid bad companions.

Lesson 3: Control

Like every river, the Great River of Life must be controlled. Control can only be achieved through self-discipline. Without a goal, there is no need for discipline.

On the other hand, every goal requires some degree of discipline. If you want to be a farmer, a soldier, an engineer, a medical doctor or an athlete, you must endeavor to apply self-discipline in a way suitable for the goal. You need to form the habits needed for success in chosen profession.

It is discipline alone that allows you to cultivate the habit, develop the character, and follow the way of life of that particular profession or trade.

Lesson 4: Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is the only means by which your thought patterns can be controlled and directed until they become an automatic expression of the law of habit. You need to think about this for a moment, for it is the key to your physical, mental and spiritual advancement. Cultivating the habit of self-discipline is the secret to unlimited power and success.

You can discipline your self. You can start ordering your thought patterns in order to achieve a desired goal. Or you can allow seemingly uncontrollable circumstances in life to determine how you think. But if you choose the latter path, it is certain that negative habits will dominate your life.

"And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they [do it] to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.~ 1 Corinthians 9:25

The truth is, you can train your mind. You can fix your attention on what you desire from life until you get it! Or you can feed your mind with thoughts of what you do not want.

What holds your attention is what you will materialize or bring into existence.

Night follows day, so your thought patterns are nourished by what you “feed” your mind. Your thought patterns evolve according to the ideas that occupy your mind most of the time. So when you feed your minds with the Word of God, your success is certain. But when you feed your mind with the word of human beings, your success may not come easily.

You can only get what you want through action. So you must act creatively to bring about a better life for your self and for others. But to act, you will need to apply force. This inner force that brings you what you desire comes through discipline.

So, if you desire better health, wealth, self-improvement, social status or happiness, you can achieve it only by applying your own inner force. You cannot attain it any other way. You can get your heart’s desires only through self-discipline.

Lesson 5: Two Sides of Life

In Revelation 22:2, you are told that there are two sides to the River of Life. The power of the human mind can only be actively engaged on one side of the River of Life or on the other at any given time.

The first side represents success, and the second side failure. The first side could also be called the positive side, and the other the negative side.

The goal is to develop and maintain thought patterns and deeds that keep your mind focused on the “success” or “positive” side of the River. To do this, is to develop a positive mental attitude.

There are only two ways of relating to Life. I will illustrate them by using the example of a horse and its rider. If you accept to be the horse, life will ride us. But if you choose to be the rider, you will be riding life.

You have the privilege of choosing between becoming the horse or the rider. But one thing is certain: if you do not choose to become the rider of Life, you will be forced to become Life’s horse.

So you are either riding Life, or allowing life to ride you. Life never stands still. You must either take responsibility for your own life, or some other person will control you.

The truth is clear. It takes effort to live. Like a fish who must swim upstream against the current in order to survive, you must resist the opposition of life’s violent forces. Even dead fishes can go downstream. So to truly be alive means to be in charge, to be in the control room overcoming life’s difficulties. You can live life with a positive mental attitude and face every challenge with zeal. If you do, you are sure of victory. On the other hand, if you give in to life’s many storms and complain about everything, you can be sure that life will always be riding over you.

Life will always present only two sides. But you have only one choice on every occassion:

I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; ~ Deteronomy 30:19
