Who is an Ideal Wife?

Are you an ideal wife? Are you a perfect husband? You can find out from the Bible.

There is a Bible foundation for a successful marriage. Enduring marriage is described in the Bible with three words: Leaving, Cleaving and becoming one Flesh.

“And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Genesis 2:18

This could be illustrated with the story of two couples at a party.

One of the women took over the cleaning and cooking in the kitchen, and the other lady just stood and watched with her husband.

The man whose wife stood by him said to the other, “I thank God for your wife, she is always at home doing the cooking and the cleaning. I think she is an excellent wife.”

The other man replied, “Well that is kind of you.” But he quickly added, “I think God did not create the woman because the man needed food from her kitchen.

God created the woman to be with her husband all the time. God created her to be man’s help meet.”

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Genesis 2:24

A perfect wife is one that is joined to her husband. She is a true helper.

A perfect husband has left all to cleave to his wife.

For:

"Whoso findeth A WIFE findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD." Proverbs 18:22
