How Do You Learn New Skill?
Are you yearning to develop healthy eating habits, efficient study habits, or healthy sleep habits? On this page you will learn how to cultivate healthy habits.

It is easy for you to learn physical habits. For example, on your job, you find it easy to learn new habits and tricks pertaining to the job.
You even learn easily new unrelated skills to your main job.
If you desire to learn driving for example.
You find good reasons to learn this skill. You think it would enhance your performance on your job, and save you time in your personal affaires…
To achieve your objective, you may have to enroll in a driving school. There are schools that would make you pay a little more if you've ever learnt to drive before your enrolment.
The reason is related to your lesson:
It is much harder to undo bad habits than to form new ones.
You will take your driving lessons. And give hours each day to practice your new skill. Of course your driving at the beginning will be a very tedious and unpleasant task.
With repeated practice, it may take you many months before the new habit is formed. What happens then after? Your driving becomes easy and pleasurable!
You know you can definitely acquire this skill. But let me breakdown the steps in learning this new skill as it apply to any other skill or habit for that matter:
- First you decide to learn the skill…after finding good reasons to do so.
- You learn how it is done….go to school!
- You Repeat it…Repeat it again…..and again…until it becomes automatic….Repetition
These are also the same steps that you must take to cultivate any new habit.
Sure, you can cultivate mental habit or spiritual habits using the same steps.
You could follow the same steps to cultivate the habit of daily prayer, Bible Study and deeper fellowship with other Christians. Above you can form the habit of closer walk with God and improve your relationship with your Father in Heaven!
Paul wrote that your rewards for spiritual exercises are far richer and greater than any physical skills.
To build any new desirable habit you would need the support of your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is your habit mind. It’s like a very big store where all your thoughts, imaginations and suggestions from other people are packed and stored forever.
Forming a new habit becomes really simple when you master the law of habits. You can then work using the same law to bring about your desire with the best result.
Forming new habits break down to making the subconscious mind accept the thought or suggestion of the new habit.
How you do that depends on you. It
depends on what you belief: • If you are the imaginative type then you can use your imagination. Your Subconscious mind is influenced by images. Form the image of who you want to be and how you want your situation to become.
• If you are a powerful talker, then use your mouth. You
prefer confession or affirmation? – Then form a suggestion in words and repeat it until it is accepted by your habit mind. Take your affirmations from the Bible. Make them positive and personal.
• If you are the practical type – go straight into action and act out the habit! That means living now the life you are praying for.
You've prayed, yah. You are "believing" yes! Then go out and do as if you have it already! Act like it's your last action play. Yet, since God cannot fail, it shall be made real and it would manifest unto you by God's unchangeable law.
The goal is clear. You work until your subconscious mind takes over the job and accept the thought or image, words and impressions sent to it in relation to the new habit.
For sure, as you get into the habit of thinking, acting and talking in a certain way related to your new habit, your subconscious mind would take over the job for you. It would make it easier every time you repeat the tact for your new habit.
When this thought is fully fixed in your habit mind, then the rest is simple. It's then under the automatic control of the Force of Habit!
It goes without saying that you should try and cultivate desirable habits. Habits that you would love to live with for the rest of your life.
This is good reminder since your new habit will soon become firmly fixed so that you'll find it more or less difficult, sometimes almost impossible, to free your self from it again.
