“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” ~ Genesis 2:15
The garden needed to be dressed and kept. God gave the people living inside it that job. They were to dress and keep the Garden as long as they live in it. They were not spectators or tourist in Eden. They had work and responsibility.
The original translation of the phrase “to dress it and keep it” means to “participate in the creative process”.
