Forget the Past

Bible Study Ruth

Forget the Past

Forget the Past

Have you decided to improve yourself? Then, you have to learn how to get rid of the past. This includes the glory and the horrible experiences. If not your past could stand as a great obstacle to your future success and advancement. Don't let you past stop or hinder you. Get a mental cleaner and clear the past off your mind.

You have not reached your destination yet. You have to keep on moving forward step by step towards your goal. It's good to learn from Apostle Paul. He kept on focusing on the future by forgetting and forgiving his past mistakes:

"Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do : Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I Press on towards the goal to win the prize...." ~ Philipians 3:13-14

When things Seem out of control

Sometime, events may seem out of your control. But you are in charge. Yes, you are to decide how you’re going react to things. So forget the past and think of the best way to follow.

For example, you are laid off in your company. That would certainly cause you and your family great financial pains. Or your spouse suddenly leaves you and your heart is broken. A family member may get ill. Someone close to you may even pass away. These are situations that could make you feel sad and helpless. You might have tried to improve yourself or family. And as often is the case things seem to get worse the more you try. Well, you can link up with God and forget the past pains.

Don’t Give Up

The tendency is for you to really feel helpless after so many disappointments. The easy way out is to give in. or accept the situation as settled. You feel there is nothing you can do to make things better. If you are feeling helpless after many fruitless trials to get your problems solved, I have good news for you. You can forget the past.

The solution to your problem is at hand. You may ask why I am so sure. Well, the Bible says:

"For nothing is impossible with God." ~ Luke 1:37 NIV

Allow God work for you

Maybe you are tired and hopeless because you have not allowed God to help you take care of the situation. Why not bring God into your situation now. But you will have to first deal with your pains. so you have to forget the past to be able to call on God.

Or you have tried to even forget the past without success. Make that a subject of prayer. Call on God. Let God help you out. Let God show you the way of life today.

He will do that only when you call unto Him in prayer! You might have called on God and things still seem not to change. Well, the truth is, with God, you have not done your best until you reach your goal. You need to agree with God on this. Your miracle is on the way. Keep on trusting God until you receive it. It is good thing to always remember the farmer or a gardener. Before a farmer plants his seeds, he would first clear the weeds on his farm.

Then he plants his seeds trusting in God and God’s natural law which makes the seeds germinate, grow and bring bountiful harvest.

You too would have to clear first from your mind your negative experiences of the past. Your past is gone don’t allow it hinder your future. Don't give it the undue power to stop you.

Trust God and Drive on

You need also to trust God for your future harvest. Your goal is to drive into the future. Your rear mirror may be good but could not lead you safely forward. It is focus on the past which is forever gone. It returns no more. Therefore, stop looking backward. Take heart and plan now for your future. It is what you do today that matters.

You can start right away. What is the thing desirable for the future? Think, act and talk in such a way as make it happen. Think, act and talk more on how to make your life better. If you want success you have to invest more in your future. You need thorough preparation for your future. The future is more important. You can improve your future. But the past is beyond your power of redemption. You can’t make the past any better.

Therefore, devote each day to plan to make better things happen in future. When things are not working as you’ve planned, stay on board and never, ever give up.

You need to persist and keep going until reach your place of success. Follow on as God leads the way you will certainly succeed.

Here is the Bible Advise:

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19
God bless you as you forget the past and get rid of the pains in Jesus name.

Action Point:

  • Decide to forget the past no matter what it takes.
  • Think of your future

God bless you as you decide for Him in Jesus name.
