Works of Satan

The ultimate goal of Satan is to bring about physical and spiritual death and destruction. You must overcome Satan to be able to conquer evil.

In Eden Garden Genesis 3 you realize that Satan brought shame, embarrassment, and guilt.

You know how they “hid” themselves -verse 8, and were afraid -verse 10.

Satan was at the center of Adam and Eve’s broken relationship with God.

The relationship between Adam and his wife was also affected:

They brought evil upon each other as they blamed each other v12

Satan is the accuser both of God and Christians. Revelation 12:10

He is the author of evil in the world.

However, Satan was defeated on the cross (Colossians 2:15)

Jesus’ disciples are given authority over demons Luke 10:17-20

YOUR THREE STEPS TO VICTORY

1. First step: Put on the Whole Armour of God – so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
2. The second step: is to Pray at All Times in the Spirit:
3. Third step: Having done All, Stand

How do you defend and attack?

“Put on the whole armour of God…” Ephesians 6:11

1. Belt of truth – a good knowledge of the truth to counter devil’s lies..John 8:32
2. Breastplate of righteousness v 14 – The righteousness of Christ given to you Philippians 3:9 This protects your heart against guilt and condemnation.
3. Boots of the gospel of peace V15 - Seek peace, pursue it,
1 Peter 3:11 - be at peace with all Hebrews 12:14 – The readiness to speak of Christ Isaiah 52:7-10
4. Shield of faith v 16 – The opposite of fear.
5. Helmet of Salvation V17- To protect the mind against doubt and accusation…
6. Sword of the Spirit – The word of God, The only weapon to attack (Hebrews 4:12)

How do you attack?

“the whole world is under the control of the evil one” I John 5:19

The kingdom of God conquers the enemy through:
i) Prayer – 2 Corinthians 10:4
ii) Action – Luke 7:22 – by preaching the gospel of peace; Casting out demons, Healing the sick etc…

TWO DIVISIONS

The parts of the armour could be grouped into two main divisions.

The two major problems in the world today are related to those two general groups of the armour of God.

a) The first group end up with peace.

This group leads us directly to the problem of idividual peace of mind as well as the world peace.

It resolves the basic issue of how you could find peace of mind in a troubled world. For, without peace, it is impossible to do any thing serious.

But how will someone find peace in a troubled world? The Bible gives a clear direction. It comes ....

“Having girded his loins with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod his feet with the preparation for the gospel of peace.”

Without peace there is no advancement, no progress at all. That is why you have to seek peace. Peace should be the core value for any normal person.

That is why the Bible says, “Seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:11

b) The second group shows you the way to be able to stand in times of trouble.

It shows you how to maintain your confidence, and stand your ground even when people around you are falling, quiting and loosing their head.

How will you be able to withstand the attack of the enemy?

The answer is:“Put on the whole armour of God”.

That is, having put on the truth, having put on the righteousness, and having found peace of mind; you must now, presently, in your particular situation take up the shield of faith, take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.

These are all you must endervoeur to put on if you want your defence to be solid, reliable and efficient.

These are the parts of the armour that must be well in place if you want to keep your ground in times of trouble.

These are the major divisions of the armour of a well defended soldier.

All these are aspects of Christ. You are to take up these aspects of Christ in order to stand the devil’s attack.

You are to take these up again and again whenever you feel that you are under attack.

These parts of the armour should be permanently on you. They are to become part of your own nature.
