Adam and Eve were God’s guarded delight
Eden means, “delight,” and garden means “guard-in”; thus it is a ‘guard-in’ of God’s delight. In it, Adam and his wife were kept safe and in perfect peace as long as they focused their attention on their Source – God!
A natural garden is a great place for its perfect harmony and great opportunity. In a garden; people could develop their latent abilities and explore to the fullness nature’s available provisions. In the beautiful Garden, God supplied all that Adam and his wife needed for a happy life. Every essential things were already put in place before they got there.
This proves God the provider sees what you need and had made necessary provisions for them. God will neither leave you nor forsake you. God will always care for you in any situation and at all times. You can therefore be sure wherever you are; God has made provisions for all your needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Why Adam and Eve Were Kept in a Garden
God planted the garden first.
“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed” ~ Genesis 2:8.
Adam and his wife were kept in a Garden because it was a secure place. God kept His delight – the couple in the garden because it was a place of abundant supply, prosperity (multiplication), companionship and power (dominion). As long as the couple remained there, the Almighty God gracefully met all of their needs.
A Garden is a very peculiar place.
It is a very unique place because of its exceptional quality:
“As the earth brings forth its shoots … a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth.” ~ Isaiah 61:11
A Garden causes what is sown in it to multiply.
Hence, God put Adam and Eve in a garden, to enable them to increase and multiply… So they were equally taught God’s way to prosperity: That is by planting or sowing. It brings increase, more fruits or profit.
The Living Garden
The earth, your heart, mind and body are all like living gardens. You reap whatever you plant in them. You are to guard your heart with all diligence. You are to keep your body in perfect shape.
"Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life." ~ Proverb 4:23
You are therefore, here on earth – with the same quality as a garden - to make profit from your natural ability and other material resources or possessions.
“ He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.” ~ Psalm 107:35- 38
Bible Advice
• Make a decision to increase what you have today! • God's way to increase what you have is by planting. • On earth, like in any Garden, you can only multiply what you plant.
It is what you use or spend that increases, multiplies or that’s made more perfect:
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit." ~ John 12:24
