It is time for to change you life. But why must you try to better your life? It is time for you to improve your life, change situations for the better.
If your home is not a joyful place it used to be, then it's time to change your life. For every change starts form you.
At work, your boss and work situations are not the best. All of that indicate a need for you to change your life.
Your finance and health are your serious concern. They ought to improve to make your life better.
You of course desire a better world. You yean for a place where the change is total. You seek for a world where the former things are gone. You are looking for a world where there are no wars, sorrows, crying, pains, poverty or sickness.
You dream of a world that is peaceful and joyful for everyone. That could not come until things change.
The truth is such a world is possible but it start with you. It starts when you change your life.
What should you try to Change?
True, changes and improvements are always possible in these areas. But are these the things that you really need to change?
Well, the Bible teaches that human problems are not political, economical, social or ecological. They are deep moral problems.
The Bible gave a warning concerning this present terrible time change. In 2 Timothy 3:1-2, you are told of three things will control people’s hearts, relationships and activities :
1. The love for self - selfishness 2. The love for money and 3. Lack of love for God. In fact people will deny the power of God.
Concerning those people the Bible says you should, “Have nothing to do with them.”
What is the True Problem?
Can you imagine a world without selfishness? What of a relationship where there is no lies? Or a city where every person speaks the truth at all times? Can you imagine a country where everyone loves her neighbors?
Jesus commanded his followers to love their neighbors as themselves and to do to others as they want people do to them.
That is the golden rule to live-by. It is what will change the situation of the entire world. It will make you happy. It will bring peace, love and joy into your family and to your workplace.
Your community and nations would become one happy family. That will bring an end to wars, conflicts, poverty and diseases. Then the peace of God that passes all understanding would reign every where.
The world will be a joyful place for all.
What must you Change?
The root of human problems the Bible says is the heart. If your heart is evil, your conducts, and talks can only be evil.
You are to watch out for what is in your heart and of course by changing your heart – your thoughts and how you think, you will be changing your life and situation:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” ~ Proverbs 4:23.
You cannot change your situation until you change your heart. The Bible says you become what you think in your heart.
The way to change human conditions is to first change your self.
When you improve your self, you are indeed improving the entire world. Therefore there is no need waiting on the world to change. Simply improve your self and your world would change.
This means change is an individual process. The foundation for any true change is in your heart.
It is not the heart of your neighbor, or that of your boss, or your spouse, or that of your parents or children. It is the change of your own heart.
It is this inner change that God wants from you. When your heart is clean, your actions would be good and not evil. You will then be truly happy.
To change your heart is never an easy task. The Bible in Jeremiah 17:9 says the heart is deceitful and beyond cure.
That means it will not be easy for you to improve your self. Even God is not willing to mend or repair a heart that you have corrupted or messed up with your evil desires. God offers something better: a brand new heart in place of the old!
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” ~Ezekiel 36:26
Are you not often unhappy about yourself? Sometimes you are ashamed of your foolish actions. You know what horrible thoughts pass through your heart.
Your thoughts, actions and talks are what you must work hard to change.
How to Choose Your Own Change
The Bible shows you how to change your life and situations. It is by changing your heart.
The Bible uses the word heart and mind to mean your spiritual part.
It shows you are a mind/heart and a body. It also shows that the mind –the store house for your thoughts is the cause and director of your body activities:
“The good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and the evil [man] out of the evil [treasure] bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” ~ Luke 6:45
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve.” ~ Jeremiah 17:10.
Your heart or mind which determines the way you act and talk ~ Matthew 15:18-19; Matthew 12:34−37.
You can get result only by action or by putting your body into activity. It is your mind that causes, controls and directs all your body activities.
Your mind is spiritual and contains your thoughts and ideas. Your body is physical. Since the spiritual is superior to the physical, your mind is superior to your body.
Your body is the center of actions. It has its tools, the implements or equipments with which to carry out its activities. They are your brain, eyes, ears, tongue, nose and skin, hands and feet.
Hence your mind and body must work in perfect harmony to bring you success.

Change starts with your heart or mind. You cannot change until you renew or change your mind and the way you have been thinking.
To renew your mind is to change of mind. This is repentance. This means examine what you think about the situation you want to improve and change your thought to reflect the change you want.
To renew your mind is to repent. It is to change the content and the way of operation of your mind. It is repentance that put an end to old habits and makes new habits to begin.
It is repentance that makes old thing to pass away so that every thing becomes new. You old nature is gone and the new nature begins.
Old bad habits belonging to the old self are gone and new ones corresponding to the new nature have taken their place. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:4-10

Make a list and think of practical ways you want God to help you bring about the change.
Before you settle to work, write down your plan of action and follow it through.
Action Points:
There are practical action points to help you change your life or situation for the better:
1. Bible Study ~ 2 Timothy 2:15
Go through your Bible and study your goals and find out how to achieve them. Let the word of God dwell richly in your heart – to overcome temptation Jesus used the word. When tempted, it is the word of God that would lead you victoriously out.
Therefore, you need to search through the Bible for related verses about the change you want to achieve. Memorize as many of them as you could and talk or quote them often to your self or others.
2. Doers of the Word ~ James 1:22
Remember change will not be easy. But God promises to make it possible if you diligently obey His word.
You need imagination to bring about any change. Remember how you first learn how to ride your first bike or learning driving a car.
New activities are difficult and uncomfortable at the beginning but with practice and repetition, it becomes easier and even pleasurable.
Your best bet to bring about any change is hard labor. It is what you do that brings results. So don’t be afraid of hard work.
Thinking and talking are excellent steps but Actions is what make the result visible. So learn to give your self fully to obey the word of God. Practice what you learn from the Bible.
You will change only when you are ready to compel yourself to do what you know is right. Then repeat it until it becomes automatic.
3. Pray without ceasing ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer is one of the best tools to help you bring about your desired change and improvement. Pray to God to help you out.
Let God know what you want to change. When you ask, for help you will receive. He hears when you call. So pray regularly.
4. Talk to Your Pastor ~ James 5:16.
When you are seeking a change, the best place to go for support in your church. Talk to your Pastor about your goal. Your Pastor or counselor will help you in prayer and would counsel you and show you from the Bible how to achieve your goal.
You need to fellowship regularly with other Christian. You will learn from the testimonies of others struggling for a change like you.
5. Flee Appearance of Evil: ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Examine every condition to identify causes that make you do what you know is wrong. Then plan how to keep away from those causes. Flee every appearance of evil.
It is simple to avoid temptation. You simply need to flee people, places, and situations that tempt you. You need to keep company with people who help you bring about the change that you desire. 1 Corinthians 15:33.
To change you would need to take your self out of the crowd.
For example, if you want to stop drinking, then you would need to stop associating with bars and friends who drink.
6. Overcome Evil with Good~ Romans 12:21
Change and improvement come when you exchange the bad with good. In Ephesians 4:22 - 32 you are given examples of what deeds to replace with better ones.
The things that God hates
You need to get rid of bad practices by learning to practice the exact opposite until the new practice becomes your habit.
For example, if you want to stop compulsive lying, learn the habit of telling the truth alwaysYou can overcome evil with good. This is the law of nature. It allows no room for vacuum.
What do you do when you want to remove a gas form a bottle? You fill the bottle with a liquid so that air cannot get back inside.
Your heart or mind like that bottle must be occupied. You don’t build your spiritual life on emptiness. It must be filled with good or evil. Therefore replace your bad habits with good, and the bad is less likely to get power to return to hurt you.
7. Look unto Jesus~ Hebrews 12:2
God offers your Jesus Christ as your life model. You are to focus your eyes on Jesus. Make him your example in thoughts deeds and talks.
You are to be imitators of God. Ephesians 5:1-2therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrance offering and sacrifice to God.
This you do as you walk in love. For whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love..- 1 John 4:8, John 3:16
This means when you want to take any action, you first ask what Jesus would do. Then you do just go ahead and do the same thing.
When you look unto Jesus, he will never disappoint you. Jesus will never disappoint you as your Savior, Lord and as a model to follow. He is the only one who can fill your heart with his Agape love. He will give you a new hope for the future.
He never changes. For he is “the same…” Hebrews 13:8
Step 3: Your Talk
“Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk from your lips.” ~ Proverbs 4:24
The third step concerns your talk what you declare or say. If you want to bring about any change, take note of your talk concerning the situation you want to change. Then change your talk.
This means you need to make private and public declaration of what you want.
Talk of only what you want. You should talk using positive words. Your desire is to better your situation therefore avoid as much as possible talking negative or using negative words.
Don’t talk of what you want in negative terms.
For example, don't say, "I don’t want this sick." Instead say: "I am healed." Therefore talk of healing rather than sickness.
Positive words will produce positive results and negative talks would bring ruin. Hence concentrate on what you want make it your choice.
Give your entire life to Jesus and make him your model. Think, act and talk like Jesus. Make this new way of life your habit, and very soon you life will be transformed.
You will become a brand new creation. Old things will pass away and all things will become new.
Decide for what change you want Think, act and talk so as to make it happen.
Decide to follow Jesus who came that you may receive never to look back.
God bless you as you decide for Him in Jesus name.
