Spiritual WarfareThe Reality of Spiritual Warfare started in Eden Garden in the Bible book of Genesis. The first human beings were tempted. They fell into the hands of the evil one. The beauty, serenity and abundance of Eden, were completely changed when God made an open declaration of war. Spiritual warfare that started right in Eden continues even onto this day. This battle manifests violently in your day to day life. God pronounced specific areas of conflicts. To Adam who was supposed to dress and keep the garden, God said: “Cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;” God added: “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground” Genesis 3:18-19 That was the beginning of sorrow and hard labor for Adam and all his desendants. That was the beginning of the battle for survival of the fitest. That also marked the beginning of the the rat race whereby people wake up early, sleep late, and eat the bread of sorrow..... This verse shows that life’s toiling or labor solely for material sustenance leads to sorrow. Today you are concerned and fully involved in it. You see many people who labor in sorrow to continue to survive in the world. Why? The earth refuses to yield her full increase. You get less than you give into it. God said to Eve, Adam’s wife, “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shall bring forth children.” That marked out Child delivery and parenting as areas of battle and sorrow on earth.
God said concerning the man and his wife and their relationship with one another, “Thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.” Genesis 3:16 Hence the conflicts you are experiencing today in marriage and in relationships all started in Eden. But the main battle was between Satan and the children of Eve. God made this declaration: “I will put enemity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will srike his heel.” Genesis 3:15 The cause of your daily warfare is as a result of this word “enemity.” This was what God pronounced. He“talk out” enemity between human beings and Satan. So the decree of the Almighty God continues to manifest in today's reality. Apostle Paul described this daily fight as a good fight. He described it as a course, as a race and a battle. He said:
Likewise, you have to fight, to battle, so as to finish the course that lies before you. You need to fight so as to keep on living by faith. Therefore, as long as you are alive in this world, you must have confrontations, difficult situations to manage, to overcome and master. This is the main essence of life’s daily spiritual warfare.
