Inductive Bible Study

Study

So you are considering the inductive Bible Study. That is a very good news! It is one of the best methods for you to study or teach the Bible.

If you want to do or teach a throrough Bible study, the first challenge is for you to decide on what method of study or teaching to follow.

The simplest method is for you to write down your questions. Then seek to find out the answers from your Bible. You will need therefore to develop your ability to ask questions.

This method is commonly called “the question and answer method” of Bible Study. It is also referred to as the "inquiry method” or “inductive study.”

Study Method

You can find many approaches to study or teach the Bible. One of the best methods is the question and answer. This method is also one of the simplest.

It consists of two basic steps:
.The word gives life

a) Reading the passage.
b) Examine it by asking questions

There are three main questions:

1. What does it say?

2. What does it mean?

3. How does it apply to me now?

Each question yields many answers. So you find this method is intended to teach, first, what the text says; then, what it means; and finally, how its truth – principles apply to readers now.

This Bible Study method is one of the best for study and teaching the Bible. This is because it makes the Bible relevant to common people’s experience.

That is why we are suggesting that you use this method for your study.

There are two things you need to do:

• First you need to develop your reading skill. Make sure your understanding of your own language is good enough to study or teach a Bible Study.

• Then you must learn how to integrate the lesson to people’s common experience.
